The rematch between Fedor Chudinov (14-0) and Felix Sturm (39-5-3) is finally set.
Their WBA super middleweight title fight sequel will take place February 20 in Oberhausen, writes Bild.
Chudinov claimed the vacant title with a split decision win over Sturm in May, having also taken place in Germany. Just one defense has followed, a 12-round win over Frank Buglioni this past September in London, England. His forthcoming rematch with Sturm will mark the fourth time in a span of five fights in which the unbeaten boxer from Russia fights in his opponent's home country.
Sturm is just 0-2-1 in his last three starts, having not fought since the loss to Chudinov in May. However, a rematch clause allows the former four-time middleweight champ to proceed straight away to a rematch and thus, a second consecutive super middleweight title fight.
The two were once slated to meet on Dec. 12 on Vlad Hryunov's show in Moscow, Russia. However, the logistics couldn't be worked out to make the fight happen at that time.
