The World Boxing Council declares three days of mourning for the passing away of our former WBC bantamweight champion Chucho Castillo.

According to medical reports, Chucho passed after some complications from a surgery he underwent several days ago.

Jesus Castillo Aguilera was born in Nuevo Valle de Moreno, Guanajuato on June 17th, 1944, who as boxer fought 67 fights.

He became one of the best bantamweights in Mexican history. He conquered the national title by defeating Jose Medel and then the world title by TKO over Ruben Olivarez at the Forum Inglewood, California during a card promoted by George Parnassus.
