BoxingScene.com recently caught up with WBO junior welterweight champion Chris Algieri who spent the majority of his training camp at the Palazzo Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada. Algieri's camp was unique in that he had several open workout sessions in which fans and media alike were allowed to view his training regimen.

"My camps have always been open. My social media is very strong. I have always allowed people to see what I do because I believe that is a big part of it. Fight night is obviously the most important but all of the work is done in the gym.  Fighters and champions bust their humps year round and we only get a few minutes to shine on fight night. I am allowing everyone to see all of the hard work that goes into
being a champion," said Algieri.

The New York native said that it has been easy getting used to training in a casino instead of a traditional gym but that living in a casino has required an adjustment. He believes that training and living in a casino will make him more comfortable when the day of the fight comes.

"We fight in casinos so it's not so much training in casinos that has been different but it's been living in one. I am staying at the Palazzo and have great accommodations there. It is great because that is exactly where I am fighting. I am very comfortable in my surroundings and I will be that much more comfortable on fight night," Algieri told BoxingScene.com.

The Pacquiao-Algieri card will be broadcast at the traditional 6pm pacific/9pm eastern start time that boxing fans are used to in the United States but the fight will actually take place on Sunday morning in Macau and Algieri said he has adjusted his sparring schedule to simulate fighting in the morning as opposed to fighting at night.

"We have been doing our sparring sessions the same time as the fight so it will be no change for me. Like I said it is all about getting comfortable and so far so good. I feel great," Algieri stated.
