WBC middleweight champion Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. wants the big names and the fights. The 25-year-old Mexican star approached his promoter, Bob Arum of Top Rank, and discussed his urge to fight the best out there - including Marco Antonio Rubio, Miguel Cotto and Sergio Martinez. There are negotiations for Chavez to face Peter Manfredo Jr. in September and then a possible fight with Cotto in the first half of 2012.

"I told him [Bob Arum] that in addition to Peter Manfredo Jr., who is mentioned as the next opponent, I want fights with Marco Antonio Rubio, Miguel Cotto and Sergio Martinez. I'll always be there when they pay me my fair share for fights like this. The fight with Zbik gave me a lot more beyond the championship. It was a dream. I learned new things and showed that I can fight for twelve rounds at a good pace. If I get a fight against Martinez or Cotto, I think we have to improve a lot, but I am here to be better every day, because they are the fights I want," Chavez Jr. said.
