Former middleweight champion Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. (49-2-1, 32 KOs) is still considering his options for a planned return in the fall, either in October or November.

Chavez Jr. has fought twice in 2015, losing by knockout in nine rounds to Andrzej Fonfara in April, and then came back in July to win a ten round unanimous decision over Marcos Reyes. Both of those fights took place at the light heavyweight limit, between 171 to 172-pounds.

Chavez would like to get the winner of the fight between WBC super middleweight champion Badou Jack and mandatory challenger George Groves, which takes place on September 12 as part of the Floyd Mayweather vs. Andre Berto Showtime Pay-Per-View at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. Chavez would also be interested in Lucian Bute, who came back with a win on Saturday night in Montreal, and also UK contender Paul Smith who recently lost to Andre Ward.

"I think the winner [of Jack-Groves] is a possible fight for me, it's something that is feasible. But there are names like Paul Smith, who lost to Andre Ward but proved to be a good fighter. Lucian Bute is a good fighter. The issue of my weight [for the next fight] will depend on the opponent that is finalized," Chavez told ESPN Deportes.
