The verdict is in, former lightweight champion Jose Luis Castillo met with the Nevada State Athletic Commission, as part of a hearing regarding his inability to make weight for his June 3 rematch with Diego Corrales.

He was suspended for the rest of 2006 and fined the maximum amount of $250,000. Further, once Castillo returns to action, he is not allowed to sign for any fight below 140 pounds.

That was the bad news. The good news for Castillo's promoter Bob Arum and the fighter himself, is the ruling paves the way for the much talked about showdown with undefeated Ricky Hatton, rumored to take place next Spring.
