    Castillo Suspended For 06, Fined 250K

    By Karl Freitag Fight news..

    The Nevada State Athletic Commission, today threw the book at Jose Luis Castillo for not making the weight in his rubber match with Diego Corrales in June.Castillo was fined the maximum, $250,000 and had his boxing licensed suspended for the rest of the year. He will be eligible to reapply next year with the stipulation that he can't fight at less than 140 lbs.

    He deserves it. Hes a professional and he knows the rules. He should of come in at the stipulated weight.

      if he couldnt make the weight, it should have been announced days before the official weigh in.

      i still like castillo. hes tough, hes active, hes exciting, hes powerful, hes got a lot of heart, hes never been down, and he gave mayweather, corrales, and others the toughest fights of their careers. but i lost a ton of respect for him after the 3rd weigh in.

      there was no excuse for that. his punishment is just.

        agreed, hope he can still have a good career (after the suspension) but i honestly dont think he has much of a future at 140.

          maybe hatton could wait an extra month and fight him in january

          anyone know if its garuteed that he gets unsuspended in january?

            not gonna happen cuz ricky's fighting in december... just in case you werent being sarcastic.
