Former WBC silver featherweight champion, Mexico's Robinson Castellanos (19-10, 12KOs), has arrived in Indio, California with a salient point to prove - as he takes part in a ten round clash against undefeated Ronny Rios, who has a record of 23 victories with 10 KO's.
Robin is accompanied by his team of Lorenzo Lopez; counselor, Enrique Guilbert; and Dr. Cecilio Flores. They were taken to Fantasy Springs Resort Casino, by representatives of Golden Boy Promotions, where the two boxers will battle in the main event of a card presented by promoter Oscar de la Hoya.
Robinson stresses that his next bout is the most important of his life, as it's a make or break on the path back to a WBC title. He wants to bounce back after February's TKO defeat to Rene Alvarado.
“I just have a winning mentallity. I don’t have anything else in my head. I want to give lots of joy to my people in Celaya. They've supported me throughout my career, and I also want to remain on the track for the WBC world title,” Castellanos commented.
