Following his great victory over Michel Soro on July 1st in Evian, France, in which he retained his WBA Interim Super Welterweight title broadcasted by Canal +, Argentina’s Brian Castano is steaming mad because most of his purse continues to remain remained unpaid by French promoter Sebastien Acaries’ Univent Boxing Promotion.

“The situation is being handled by my manager Sebastian Contursi as the French promoter has not paid me most of the purse as of today. They did everything in their power to try to win the fight at all costs. Then, the promoter did not pay my purse," Castano said.

"Acaries kept promising he will, but two months after the fight they have not. Luckily, Contursi has guaranteed I will be paid as he put a check of his own in an escrow account for me."

“This situation is not only shocking but unbelievable. We are in 2017 and certain people still behave like they still are in the old days when they thought they could do whatever they wanted. Mr. Acaries is still promising that he will pay Castaño. I have the messages he sent me directly after the fight but they all have been lies. They just cannot accept the fact that Castaño beat his star Soro on his own backyard fair and square,” manager Contursi explained.

“We are prepared to sue the promoter, Canal +, the government of the city of Evian, and all associates that might have been  involved in the organization of this fight,” Contursi added.

In the meantime, Castaño is training for his next defense of his title, targeted for the end of November or early December.
