Golden Boy Promotions CEO Richard Schaefer has advised BoxingScene.com that he might explore a possible fight between IBF junior middleweight champion Carlos Molina (22-5, 6KOs) and undefeated contender Jermall Charlo (17-0, 13KOs).
Golden Boy has a few options on Molina. They were going to match him against the comebacking Victor Ortiz on the Broner-Maidana undercard in December, but the IBF refused to sanction the fight because Ortiz was returning from back to back defeats and never fought at 154-pounds. Charlo is ranked at #14 by the IBF. Charlo's twin brother, undefeated Jermell, is actually ranked at #5 and faces Gabe Rosado on January 25th.
Jermall Charlo, 23-years-old, appears to be the bigger puncher between the two brothers and stopped his last eleven oponnents - a streak that runs all the way back to August 2010. Jermall was very active in 2013 - fighting seven times and stopping every opponent in seven rounds or less.
