LOS ANGELES, Calif. - Although Richard Schaefer, CEO of Golden Boy Promotions,  announced that Saul "Canelo" Alvarez would likely face Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. in April 2012 - Alvarez's trainer, Edison Reynoso, believes the fight will be difficult to make. The problem is not reaching a deal on the venue, or the money, but Reynoso views the agreed upon catch-weight as the biggest issue. Alvarez is the WBC champion at 154, while Chavez is the WBC champion at 160.

Reynoso would like a weight of 157, with Alvarez going up three pounds and Chavez coming down three, but he doesn't see a deal being reached because he doesn't believe Chavez is capable of getting down to 157. Reynoso said a deal for 157 "looks impossible" because Chavez struggles to make his division limit of 160-pounds.
