LOS ANGELES, Calif. - Although Richard Schaefer, CEO of Golden Boy Promotions, announced that Saul "Canelo" Alvarez would likely face Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. in April 2012 - Alvarez's trainer, Edison Reynoso, believes the fight will be difficult to make. The problem is not reaching a deal on the venue, or the money, but Reynoso views the agreed upon catch-weight as the biggest issue. Alvarez is the WBC champion at 154, while Chavez is the WBC champion at 160.

yeah, i think it won't work out either. two young pampered champs shouldn't even be meeting right now imo, they should be trying to prove themselves within their divisions. i really hope it doesn't happen.

They should fight at 160 and Canelo should only go up to 157 if that is all he is comfortable going up to.

I agree with you about the weight this fight needs to happen next year for sure it would make both guys a lot of money and it would split Mexico in two for that fight plus it needs a great undercard to go with it TR Vs GB all night sounds good to me.

I think it makes perfect sense for them to fight each other. I was not impressed with Canelo's performance against Gomez at all. If anyone is going to take the fame of beating these guys why not against each other to bump one off the list?

The scales are rigged, they use the oldbalance-beam scales, not digital in MX, and JR can't make 168#, chicken fart...
