Mexican superstar Saul "Canelo" Alvarez doesn’t think there’s any additional pressure on him and Puerto Rico's Miguel Cotto to produce a memorable action fight following the anticlimactic, maligned Floyd Mayweather vs. Manny Pacquiao bout.
Alvarez didn’t hesitate, though, to promise that he and Cotto will provide the type of great entertainment Mayweather and Pacquiao didn’t deliver when they meet November 21 in Las Vegas.
“This is a guarantee,” Alvarez said through a translator on a recent conference call. “Without a doubt, this is a fight. We are both coming to win. We are both going to fight. We are both going to lay it on the line. Without a doubt, this is a fight for real.”
Alvarez (45-1-1, 32 KOs) and Cotto (40-4, 33 KOs) will fight for Cotto’s WBC middleweight title in an HBO Pay-Pay-View main event at Mandalay Bay Events Center.
