A Minnesota grudge match took place at the Convention Center in Minneapolis. Middleweights Matt Vanda (44-15, 24KOs) and Caleb Truax (20-1, 12KOs) fought over ten rounds, with Truax winning a ten round unanimous decision.  Truax was too big and strong for Vanda, who was entering the ring for the final time in his career. The crowd gave Vanda plenty of support as he gave it his all before bowing out.

Truax has now won three in a row since the decision loss to Jermain Taylor last April, where Truax put up a tougher showing than expected and dropped Taylor in the ninth. Vanda had not fought since the TKO defeat to Marco Antonio Rubio in December 2011.

Vanda ends his long career, which included matches with Yori Boy Campas, Julio Cesar Chavez Jr., John Duddy and many others.
