A Minnesota grudge match took place at the Convention Center in Minneapolis. Middleweights Matt Vanda (44-15, 24KOs) and Caleb Truax (20-3-1, 12KOs) fought over ten rounds, with Truax winning a ten round unanimous decision. Truax was too big and strong for Vanda, who was entering the ring for the final time in his career. The crowd gave Vanda plenty of support as he gave it his all before bowing out.

Bitter sweet seeing Vanda end his career. It was time, but I spent most of my career boxing on his undercards here in MN and it's been a true pleasure to get to know him and pick his brain from time to time on the sweet science.
