Fans will be tuning in to watch the super featherweight showdown between Roman "Rocky" Martinez and Miguel "Mikey" Garcia in Corpus Christi, TX on Saturday night.

One person in particular though will be watching the fight with a possible vested interest.

Super featherweight contender Juan Carlos Burgos could fight the winner between Martinez and Garcia, Thompson Boxing Promotions Alex Camponovo told BoxingScene.com in a recent telephone interview.

Garcia is the mandatory challenger to Martinez's WBO super featherweight title. Burgos (30-1-2, 20 KOs) is ranked at number two.

"If all goes well, then it could look like Juan Carlos would fight the winner of the two early next year," said Camponovo.

Burgos is co-promotes by Thompson Boxing Promotions and Banner Promotions.

In his last fight on July 26th, Burgos fought to a 12 round split decision draw against Yakubu Amidu at the Thunder Valley Casino Resort in Lincoln, CA.

Earlier this year on January 19, Burgos fought to a 12 round split decision draw against Martinez at Madison Square Garden in New York City.
