IBF welterweight champion Kell Brook (36-0, 25KOs) raised a few eyebrows when he weighed in at 176-pounds during the WBC's weight check, for the upcoming title fight with WBC/IBO/WBA/IBF middleweight king Gennady Golovkin (35-0, 32KOs) at The O2 on September 10, live on Sky Sports Box Office.

Both men weighed in on Wednesday, with Golovkin coming in 11 pounds lighter at 165-pounds.

Brook, viewed by many as the much smaller man, is moving up by thirteen pounds and two divisions to challenge Golovkin for his titles. Nobody expected him to be so much bigger than Golovkin 30 days out.

The Sheffield fighter says the additional weight was intentional to increase his power for the fight. Brook is already regarded as a big puncher at 147-pounds, but wants to reload his guns with more ammo for Golovkin.

Brook has been killing his body to make the welterweight limit for several years and views the Golovkin contest as a blessing when it comes to cutting weight in camp.

"I'm feeling fantastic and I am this weight because I want to be this weight. I am eating non-stop and I am able to push myself very hard in the gym," Brook told Sky Sports News HQ. "I want to be this heavy. I will be bringing the speed as well as the power into this fight.

"That speed is there and we are adding extra power to it. I am more durable because I am at a natural weight, so I'll be using my feet as well as my speed and power in this fight. I am going to shock the world baby.

"I am not making welterweight 147lbs, I was always draining myself jumping on and off the scales. This time I don't have to worry about the weight, I can concentrate on technique, power and skill. Come fight night, I'll be peaking and ready to fly."
