Two-division world champion Timothy "Desert Storm" Bradley is preparing with his new trainer, Teddy Atlas, for the upcoming bout with Brandon "Bam Bam" Rios on Saturday, November 7, at the Thomas & Mack Center, located on the campus of the University of Nevada, Las Vegas and will be televised live on HBO World Championship Boxing, beginning at 10:00 p.m. ET/PT.
Bradley (32-1-1, 12 KOs) made some changes after his last fight, stepping away from longtime trainer Joel Diaz and hiring Atlas, who was basically retired from training fighters and was very dedicated to his broadcast duties on ESPN. One call from Bradley brought Atlas out of retirement.
Rios (33-2-1, 23 KOs) has been inactive since an easy January destruction of Mike Alvarado in their trilogy meeting. He's been very hungry to get back in the ring and hopes to create a highly entertaining fight with Bradley, who holds the WBO's welterweight world title.
Some experts have predicted a knockout victory for Bradley and others have predicted a knockout win in favor of Rios.
Neither will happen, says Bradley - who explains that Rios won't win and his chin will not allow him to get knocked out. Bradley predicts a very tough and exciting twelve rounds of boxing.
"Radio Rahim, how many guys have I knocked out in my whole career? Twelve guys. There is not going to be a knockout in this fight. It's not going to happen. It's just not going to happen. But guess what? I come to fight. And so does Brandon. I come to fight and he comes to fight, so you look at my last fight - I came to fight. I always come to fight," Bradley told BoxingScene.com.
"Brandon is not getting knocked out. He's not going to be going anywhere. He fought against Manny Pacquiao, who has punching power in both hands and he didn't knock him out. He's not going anywhere, he's going to be around for twelve hard rounds."
