BoxingScene was in full force in Las Vegas for the Manny Pacquiao vs. Erik Morales super fight. The noise level in the arena was so loud that at various times during the event you couldnt hear the person sitting next to you talking.

Erik Morales, coming in to the fight as an underdog, pulled a few rabbits out of his hat and showed why he is regarded as one of the best little men in the sport. I've learned over the last two years that you can never count a Mexican fighter out, especially when the odds are stacked against him. Barrera was demolished by Manny Pacquiao in 2003, came back in 2004 and has resurrected his career as one of the best fighters in the sport. Juan Manuel Marquez, made a miracle comeback against Manny Pacquiao after being dropped three times in the first round of their battle. Morales lost his rubbermatch with Marco Antonio Barrera in 2004 and appeared to be for the taking in the Pacquiao bout, but Morales put on a 5 star performance to get a very deserving unanimous decision.

BoxingScene caught up with Erik Morales and got his thoughts on the Pacquiao fight, a potential move to 135 pounds and a fourth fight with his Mexcian rival Marco Antonio Barrera.

BoxingScene: Congratulations on a great fight. How tough was Pacquiao and did you expect him to be this tough of an opponent?

Erik Morales: Pacquiao is a very tough guy, I knew he was tough before this fight was made and I worked very hard to prepare myself for this fight.

BoxingScene: What do you make of Pacquiao and his trainer saying that if Reyes gloves were worn in this fight, he would have knocked you out?

Erik Morales: The gloves mean nothing, the result would still be the same. My promoter Bob Arum and Pacquiao's promoter both agreed to the choice of gloves in the contract. If there was a problem with the gloves then they should not have agreed to the terms of the contract. My promoter handles those things and I handle my business in the ring.

BoxingScene: Would you fight Manny Pacquiao again?

Erik Morales: If the people want me to fight him again then we will fight again. It was a great fight, the people loved the fight and if they demand that we fight again then of course we will fight.

BoxingScene: What do you think is so difficult about fighting Pacquiao? Is it his speed, power or both?

Erik Morales: His movement gave me the most trouble. He moves around so much that it was hard at times, but I used my jab and hit him to the body to slow him down so I could land my punches.

BoxingScene: Did he ever hurt you in the fight?

Erik Morales: He hit me with some hard punches, he's a strong puncher but I was never in serious trouble at anytime.

BoxingScene: Do you think your jab was the key to victory in this fight?

Erik Morales: The jab, a lot of things I did helped me dictate the action in the fight. I never lost control of the fight because I was able to dictate the action. I kept him away with the jab and that allowed me to attack when I wanted.

BoxingScene: Given the fact that you were coming in as the underdog in the fight, does the win mean more to you?

Erik Morales: The victory means a lot to me, this was a big win for me and I'm happy that the fans really enjoyed the fight. I want to thank Top Rank for getting me the fight and I want to thank Manny Pacquiao for a great fight.

BoxingScene: Where do you go from here?

Erik Morales: I don't know, I want to fight two more times this year. This was a great fight and I'm looking to give the people two more great fights.

BoxingScene: Will you stay at 130 pounds or do you want to move up 135 pounds?

Erik Morales: Right now I don't know. It's up to my promoters Top Rank and the fans. Whatever they want me to do is what I will do.

BoxingScene: What about a fourth fight with Marco Antonio Barrera?

Erik Morales: If that's what the fans demand. I'm looking for big fights and if the fans want me to fight Barrera then we will do that.

BoxingScene: Do you think that you should be ranked above Barrera in the pound for pound rankings?

Erik Morales: Of course. I fight the best, I only take the big fights against the best. Look at my last few fights, look at Barrera's last few fights and then tell me the answer.

BoxingScene: Thank you for your time Erik and the best of luck in your career.
