Top Rank's CEO Bob Arum believes a 65-35 split is more than fair for a world title unification between WBO champion Joseph Parker (24-0, 18 KOs) and IBF, IBO, WBA king Anthony Joshua (20-0, 20 KOs).

David Higgins, who is the leader promoter for Parker, has stood firm on a 65-35 revenue split in favor of the British superstar.

Eddie Hearn, who promotes Joshua, says there is no way the fight will happen under a 65-35 split.

Parker's team has already dropped their position, twice.

Initially they wanted a 50-50 split and then went to 60-40 and now their "bottom line" stance of 65-35.

Arum, who has a promotional interest in Parker, can't understand why Hearn views the 65-35 position as being unreasonable.

“I’ve been in this sport for decades and I can tell you that in a unification fight like this that split is more than fair,” Arum said. “Joshua has two belts and Parker has one – so 65-35 is about right. I can’t see why Eddie Hearn doesn’t see it as reasonable.

“The fact is this is a fight that simply must happen. The world is desperate to see the heavyweight titles unified. This is the first step towards that happening. It will be a massive, massive fight. I just hope Eddie and David can come to an agreement because this fight needs to happen for the good of boxing.”

If the fight falls through, Parker's promoter has mentioned the possibility of fighting former champion Lucas Browne in a domestic clash,

But Arum has also mentioned a March date in the United States, with Parker making his next defense against Top Rank promoted Bryant Jennings.

Parker was in action back in September, when he won a tough twelve round decision over mandatory challenger Hughie Fury before a Manchester crowd.

Joshua fought late last month in Cardiff, when he stopped mandatory challenger Carlos Takam in ten rounds before 78,000 fans at Principality.
