Triple world champion Jorge Arce (55-6-1, 42 KOs) will face a truly difficult challenge when he takes on Venezuelan Lorenzo "Lencho" Parra (31-2, 18 KOs) in an attempt to make history since the bout will be qualifying super bantamweight bout for a shot at the World Boxing Organization (WBO) title, held by Puerto Rican Wilfredo Vazquez Jr.
"Bantamweight champions are busy, Eric Morel did not want to fight me in Mexico for the WBO bantamweight title and I intend to contest for a fourth title and give them a good looking battle. I want the super bantamweight belt and that is why I accepted Parra," said the established the idol of Los Mochis.
For his part, triple world champion Humberto "Zorrita 'Soto (52-7-2, 32 KOs) will defend his World Boxing Council lightweight title against a dangerous Colombian Fidel Monterrosa (23-1, 18 KOs) in what will be the second consecutive defense of the green and gold belt by Soto on Sinaloa land.
Soto, 30, has said he intends to go for the super lightweight title next year, but first he wanted to make clear that in this weight class no one can surely beat him and that he satisfies everyone on Saturday, September 18.
"As always we are offering a great show to the public and these celebrations of the bicentenary of Independence gives me a special motivation, the challenger is hard but we are all ready," said Soto.
In another interesting bout of the night, the local Omar 'Businessman' Chavez (23-0-1, 16 KOs) will have a rematch with Rodrigo Juarez (15-11-1, 11 KOs), who protested Chavez's win on May 29 in León, Guanajuato.
Chavez, son of legendary JC Chavez, said he is excited about fighting at home for the first time since his debut in December 2006, when defeated Jesus Garcia in a round.
