Former champion light heavyweight Antonio Tarver has been sitting back and doing a lot of duties in the broadcast booth for Showtime. Everytime he watches a good fight, the itch to fight again returns. Tarver likes his gig with Showtime and sees it as another career avenue for his post-boxing future.

"You know what I miss the most? Being in there and taking care of business myself, but this is something that I can work on and groom my skills because I can't fight forever. This is something I would love to be a part of and the Showtime family has embraced me so this is something that I want to continue to do after I retire," Tarver told Luis Sandoval of BoxingScene.com.

Tarver told BoxingScene he is back in the gym and plans to return to the ring. He tried to make a fight with IBO cruiserweight champion Danny Green but the two sides were unable to reach an agreement. He hopes to reach an agreement with Green after the Aussie champion is done with his next keep-busy fight.

"We are back in the gym. Just to put the world on notice. We are working hard. Trying to get this weight down, get back in shape and get ready to take over the world again. I thought the Danny Green situation was a perfect setup after he beat Roy [Jones Jr.] but then he tried to lowball us and made the fight impossible so he picked some handpicked opponent over there but after he fights that guy, he going to have to fight a real big name in order to make something big in his career happen," Tarver said.

"That win over Roy Jones was great but what has he done that only a few people have ever did? I did it and I was the first and they can never duplicate that. I'm still here and I'm ready to show the world that I'm far from being done."
