Two-time world champion Antonio DeMarco snapped a 14-month layoff to win a wide and clear unanimous decision over the willing and enduring Luis Solis, whom he sent to the canvas in the second round. DeMarco finished the fight with a convincing 99-89 verdict on the official cards of the three scoring judges.

"Tony" DeMarco (33-6, 23 KO's) showed that he initially was bothered by the long absence from the ring, as he struggled to find his rhythm, but still dominated the fight from start to finish based with better boxing, experience and changes in his offense. However, Solis (24-7-1, 17 KO's) was always dangerous, especially against counter-attacks, and exhibited a very good preparation.

"I did not fight in 14 months. I'm not very satisfied, but I understand it's a process and the important thing is to confirm that the passion continues and I will soon see the promoter when I return again," said DeMarco

Also on the card, the popular Arely Muciño displayed, precision in her striking and initiative, to overcome Kandy Sandoval by a unanimous technical decision in nine rounds.

Muciño started with great rhythm, stumbled in the first two rounds and was the queen of the ring.

But Sandoval (16-8-1, 2 KO's) took the punishment and showed her granite resistance. The power of her punches and her overall performance began to diminish with each passing round against former world champion

The fight was stopped in the ninth, because Muciño (23-3, 10 KO's) needed to be analyzed by the ring doctor as she was bleeding profusely from his left eyelid. The doctor recommended that the fight be stopped and the referee Cristian Curiel ordered the bout to go to the cards of the judges, as the cut had been the product of an accidental butt.

Muciño scored a clear victory with judges, as they tallied 90-80, 88-84 and 87-83 in her favor.

"Unfortunately, there was an accidental clash of heads and I was injured on my right eyelid. The fight was very good, I felt in rhythm, we got the win and I asked my promoter to get me the world title fight for the WBO flyweight championship," Mucino said.
