WBA super middleweight champion Andre Ward believes Amir Khan certainly possesses the proper attributes to give any fighter trouble - including the pound-for-pound king Floyd Mayweather Jr.

Khan, along with Marcos Maidana, are the two frontrunners to face Mayweather on May 3rd at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

Khan trains under the guidance of Virgil Hunter, who also trains Ward. Khan's decision to hire Hunter a few fights ago, has given Ward the opportunity to get a bird's eye view of the British fighter's skills when the two of them are training in the gym.

"I think you always have to look at speed. [Khan] has an awkward style and he hits a lot harder than people think, at least from what I've seen. Contrary to some of things that have been said, I've never sparred with him. He has a very awkward style and it works for him. And again, I think he's hitting harder than what people realize. The awkwardness, the speed and the pop that he has - I think he can give anybody trouble on any given night," Ward said.
