Super middleweight Kenny Anderson (12-1, 8KOs) has found himself in position to fight for the British title, after both Tony Quigley and Steve Smith made a decision to drop down to the middleweight division. Anderson the has the chance to meet the winner of the upcoming British title fight between George Groves and Olympic gold medal winner James DeGale.

Anderson did very well in his last ring appearance, which took place against George Groves in November. He rocked Groves several times before the tables were turned and Groves stopped him in the sixth. Anderson blames the small window of prep time as a contributing factor to the loss.

"I'm delighted that Quigley, whom I was originally meant to fight in a British title eliminator last year, and Smith have decided to go down to middleweight so I can fight either George Groves or James DeGale," Anderson told Edinburgh Evening News.

"However, to be honest, I think that DeGale and I will never meet as his promoter seems to have plans to fast-track DeGale towards a world title so I won't be surprised if I get a return with Groves, who only beat me because I had so little time to prepare. It will be very different next time."
