Former junior-welterweight titleholder Amir Khan has taken to Twitter to comment on the ongoing story involving Lamont Peterson, who tested positive for synthetic testosterone ahead of the May 19 rematch between the two. [More Details on The Story].

“Yes, Peterson was tested positive, VADA randomly tested us throughout the camp, and he failed sample A and sample B,” Khan wrote Wednesday on his official Twitter account. “We are waiting now on the Vegas commission to make a final decision. Big thanks to Floyd Mayweather, who stresses about fighters to be tested, and we all should agree. We should keep [the] sport clean.

“Peterson’s camp admitted they took the testosterone before the first fight. I’ve worked so hard since the age of 8 to achieve my goals and dreams in the sport, and boxing is a dangerous sport, a toe-to-toe battle. Someone can seriously get hurt, especially with an unfair disadvantage. We need to put a stop to this.

“I still believe they are my belts. I want to thank everyone for their support. Let’s hope the right thing will be done!”

Khan ended his message by asking fans what they think should happen, adding the hashtags “#TestedPositive” and “Justice4Khan.”
