British boxer Amir Khan (30-3, 19KOs) feels confident that his former sparring partner, WBO welterweight champion Manny Pacquiao, will come to the UK to fight him. They used to train together under the tutelage of Freddie Roach at the Wild Card Gym in Hollywood. Khan is now trained by Virgil Hunter.
Khan is hoping to get a fight with WBC/WBA champion Floyd Mayweather Jr., who downplayed Khan's worth for a pay-per-view meeting in the first half of 2015.
There is a possible domestic blockbuster with IBF champion Kell Brook. Khan has no interest in the fight, or at least for the moment. He wants either Mayweather or Pacquiao.
"I have proven myself at top level and want the big fights. I would love to fight at Wembley stadium. I believe Manny Pacquiao would come to England and fight me here – that would be good," Khan told Bolton News.
