Welterweight world title holder Devon Alexander (25-1, 14KOs) is more than likely to return to the ring on December 7th, Alexander told Boxingscene.com on Friday afternoon.
One opponent that Alexander could fight is welterweight contender Amir Khan (28-3, 19KOs).
One city that was being mentioned at the Paul Malignaggi-Adrien Broner press conference in Brooklyn was Dubai, in the Middle East.
“I don’t know about a place, but Khan is who they’ve been talking about me fighting,” said Alexander.
The fighter from St. Louis, MO, is coming off a seventh round stoppage victory over Lee Purdy in his last bout on May 18th. In the middle of the bout, Alexander suffered a broken left hand in the fight.
A return on December 7th will allow Alexander to properly recuperate from the injury and give him time to train for a Khan bout.
Khan is coming off a hard-fought 12 round unanimous decision victory over Julio Diaz in April 27th.
Both boxers fight under the Golden Boy Promotions banner.
