It was reported in the Canadian Press that Joachim Alcine of Montreal (28-0, 18KOs) will face challenge Travis Simms (25-0, 19KOs) for the WBA junior middleweight title in June.
Alcine's promoter GYM, announced that the bout is expected to land on either June 15 or June 16 in Simms' hometown of Connecticut. A purse bid was scheduled for Monday by the WBA, both the Acline's promoter was able to reach a deal with Simms' promoter Don King.
After being away for over 2-years, the 35-year-old Simms made his return to the ring on Jan 6. to stop Jose Antonio Riveria in the ninth round to win the WBA 154-pound title. Regarded as a decent puncher, Acline should be a decent test for Simms.
