WBC light heavyweight champion Adonis Stevenson and WBO kingpin Sergey Kovalev have recently hurled insults back and forth on BoxingScene.com and other media outlets.  We recently caught up with Stevenson to see if Kovalev's insults have gotten under his skin.  The Russian recently said that he feels Stevenson is a coward if he doesn't agree to a fight.

Stevenson dismissed the comments as nothing more than trash talk while taking a shot at the competition that Kovalev has faced this far into his pro career.

"It is just trash talk.  Kovalev can keep talking but first off he doesn't have any fan base.  Who has he fought?  He has just fought ESPN fighters.  We will fight anybody.  We aren't afraid of anyone.  We have never ducked anyone," Stevenson stated.

The Montreal, Canada based Stevenson said that the fight comes down to economics.  If he gets an offer that he feels is fair, then the fight will happen.

"I have no problem fighting Kovalev.  If the money is right it is no problem.  We just wanted to be compensated fairly," Stevenson told BoxingScene.com.

When asked how a fight against Kovalev would play out, Stevenson said that it would be easy and that he wouldn't be phased by the Russian's punching power.

"Easy work," said Stevenson. "I have fought power punchers before.  I have a lot of experience with them.  Like I said, if the money is there I will fight him.  He has never fought anybody.  He keeps winning but look at who he is fighting."
