BoxingScene.com recently caught up with WBC light heavyweight champion Adonis Stevenson who is in the final stages of his training camp for his September 11th title defense against Tommy Karpency.  The fight headlines a PBC card that will be televised by Spike TV from Toronto, Ontario.

The 37-year-old Stevenson is focused on his fight but also gave his thoughts on a fight that takes place the day after his - WBC/WBA welterweight champion Floyd Mayweather's title defense against former welterweight champion Andre Berto that takes place at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

Berto, who is Haitian-American, is a sizable underdog in the fight.  Stevenson believes that he is being severely underestimated.

"I am very happy for Berto.  The first Haitian Black American fighter.  People are saying he doesn't have a chance but he is not going to be easy for Floyd," Stevenson told BoxingScene.com. "He is a top contender and has been a champion.  He has been in the game a long time.  I respect Floyd Mayweather.  He is always in big fights and he is a top fighter.  I think he picked Berto because he knows he is a tough fighter.  I think it will be very exciting.  I am going to watch the fight for sure.  Berto will train tough and you never know in boxing. I don't think people picked Douglas to beat Tyson either.  I think it is a good, exciting matchup."
