ADAM ETCHES is worried his tungsten fists could soon be scaring opponents off.

The teenage light-middleweight has made a sensational start to his professional career knocking out his first two opponents, Ian Jackson and Lester Walsh in quick time.

The Sheffield sharpshooter will be aiming to make it a hat-trick of big hitting wins when he boxes on Hatton Promotions bumper bill in the Premier Suite at Bolton’s Reebok Stadium on Saturday February 26.

Etches, 19, said:  “If I keep knocking out opponents it might get harder for Richard Poxon to make matches for me.

“I can’t believe how much I am enjoying boxing professionally, especially fighting on such big cards.  Hatton Promotions are doing a great job with me.

“I only had 30 amateur fights and stopped 15 of my opponents which is a good ratio considering you have to wear a head guard so I always knew I carried a dig.”

Poxon, Hatton Promotions Director of Boxing who also manages Etches insists that there is no rush for his talented protégé to reach the top.

But Etches who plans to give up his job as a doorman and become a full time professional early next year says: “I want to reach the very top.

“In 2011, I want fans around the country to start hearing about me and realising what potential I have got.

“Richard knows what he is doing, but in the next 12 months I like to think there is a Central Area title within my grasp.”

Steve Foster Jr heads the Bolton bill. He makes the first defence of his European super-featherweight title against Belgium’s mandatory contender, Ermano Fegatilli.

This spectacular show is being televised live by Sky Sports and the full undercard will be announced later this month.

Hatton Promotions latest talent stacked show is certain to sell-out but you can get your tickets £75 (Ringside), £55 and £35 from 0161 775 7500, www.ticketline.co.uk. There is limited number of corporate packages – price on request
