Rapper/boxing promoter Curtis "50 Cent" Jackson is convinced that a welterweight super-fight between Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Manny Pacquiao is not going to happen.
Jackson, who was once a member of 'The Money Team' and very close friends with Mayweather, says the undefeated boxer's exclusive contract with Showtime, which allows him to fight just about anyone with a massive financial guarantee, puts Mayweather in a very comfortable position where he doesn't need Pacquiao to make a big payday.
There are ongoing talks to make the fight for May 2nd at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, with Pacquiao's side agreeing to terms and waiting on Mayweather to agree on his end.
“That’s not going to happen," 50 Cent told Techno Buffalo in an interview. "You heard me say it on film. It’s not going to happen. What you wanna fight Pac-Man for under those circumstances when you can pick anybody you want to? Cause we wanna see the toughest fight?"
"It don't happen if it don't have to. Later when they look at his actual record and look at what he’s done, they’re still gonna have to say, ‘Who do you think could have beat him if it would have happened this way?'”
