In a recent article that was published in a German newspaper, undefeated Arthur Abraham spoke about the sport of boxing, some of the legendary names that he watched and comapres his in-ring abilities to some of them.

Abraham said he was inspired to become a boxer by watching the primer career of former undisputed heavyweight champion Mike Tyson.

“Tyson is to blame for my career," Abraham stated “The young Mike Tyson, of course. As I saw him performing in the ring, knocking people silly, and his popularity - I knew I was going to be a boxer.”

Abraham plans to continue his career for another four to five years. He faces Jermain Taylor in the first round of the Super Six tournament on October 17 in Germany.

“About 4 to 5 years, as I am not thinking about defeat,” Abraham said.

Thoughts on German boxing legend Svenn Ottke

"You have to be smart inside the ropes, smart like Ottke. No boxer had proofed his ring-intelligence more than ‘Svennie’.”

Thoughts on Mexican boxing legend Julio Cesar Chavez Jr.

“He was the hardest, right along my lines ‘Victory or death, but never prostrate’.”

Thoughts on The Marvin Hagler vs. Sugar Ray Leonard classic battle.

“Leonard has the perfect balance, Hagler one who defined ‘controlled aggression’. That’s boxing at its best.”
