2300 Arena, Philadelphia - In a super bantamweight contest, Arnold Khegai (12-0-1, 8 KOs) won an eight round unanimous decision over veteran Adam Lopez (16-3-2, 8 KOs). The scores were 77-74, 77-74 and 78-73.

The action was very close in the first round and it was going the same way in the second - until the final minute where Khegai landed a huge right hand that really rocked Lopez, who managed to avoid further damage and survived.

They went back to boxing at the start of the third round. Khegai was starting to land some very hard counters as the action played out. Lopez was taking the punches a little better and connecting with some shots of his own.

Khegai continued to look for counter punches in the fourth. He was shooting a very calculated jab on Lopez and catching him with a right hand when he walked in. The referee was warning Khegai for continuously pushing down the head of Lopez. During the fifth round, Khegai was still roughing Lopez up with elbows and forearms and trying to make it more of a brawl than a counter-punching battle of wits.

The action really slowed down as the contest entered the sixth round. Neither fighter was taking too many chances and picking their punches very carefully. Lopez was starting to turn things up and landing a few punches that got Khegai's attention. During the sixth Khegai was penalized a point for hitting Lopez behind the head.

The fight was really rough in the seventh, as they were wrestling around on the inside. Lopez was targeting the body and trying to further tired Khegai, who wasn't throwing a lot of punches and seemed tired.

In the eight and final round, it was still very close at the start. And then Khegai landed a big right. Lopez felt it, but he was still fighting hard. Near the end of the round Khegai landed a good left and Lopez just took it and kept going.
