On April 1st, unbeaten welterweight prospect Antonio Orozco (25-0) will return to the ring against fellow unbeaten prospect Keandre Gibson (16-0-1).  The fight takes place at the Cosmopolitan Hotel and Casino on the Las Vegas strip.

The fight will be the second installment of Orozco and Gibson's promoter Golden Boy's new output deal with ESPN.  The series will premiere on March 23rd.

The 29-year-old Orozco is ecstatic to be part of the series.

"With ESPN being nationwide this is an opportunity of a lifetime.  I've fought on pretty much every platform like HBO and Showtime and now the Worldwide Leader in Sports. It's ESPN so it is a great opportunity and I want to make the best out of it," said Orozco who is excited by Golden Boy CEO Oscar De La Hoya's pledge to try to make the series as evenly matched as possible.

"I would say every time there is a fight between two undefeated fighters it just adds that much more interest to it. I believe Oscar said that when these fights are going to be made, he is going to have top notch guys going at it.  It is a great experience and it is going to show a lot. It shows that Oscar is sticking to his word and it will bring out the best of his fighter."

Orozco hasn't fought since a July victory over Abner Lopez. He was supposed to return to the ring in December against Fidel Maldonado but the fight was canceled when dehydration caused him to faint prior to the weigh in.

That was Orozco's last attempt to make 140 and he said that he learned a lot from the experience.

"I think everyone is well aware of what happened last year and that chapter is closed.  I have moved on.  I have learned from my mistakes and we are looking for a fresh new start. There are no excuses. Last year is what it was - not the best performances - but we are going to keep on moving forward and look forward to April 1st," Orozco told BoxingScene.com.

Orozco's career is guided by the well respected Frank Espinoza who also manages fighters such as WBO featherweight champion Oscar Valdez and WBO super bantamweight champion Jessie Magdaleno.  Orozco said that he sat down with his team after the fight cancellation and they all felt a move up in weight was necessary.

He said that he already feels stronger.

"Definitely. I think this is a change that had to be made. I sat down with my team and there is only way to find out and we are going to find out on April 1st. We want to become world champions and I believe this is the first step," Orozco explained.
