Andrade: We Reached Terms, Then Mundine Vanished

PROVIDENCE - The long awaited ring return for undefeated World Boxing Organization (WBO) junior middleweight champion Demetrius "Boo Boo" Andrade (21-0, 14 KOs) has, unfortunately, hit another roadblock as Anthony "The Man" Mundine (47-7, 27 KOs) has reneged on an agreement to challenge Andrade next month in his native Australia. "We agreed to terms with Mundine's promoter but have heard nothing back since then," 27-year-old Andrade explained. "Mundine calls out (Floyd) Mayweather but he won't take a legitimate WBO World title fight at 154 pounds in his own country? Same old story, I guess. Everybody wants something until they have a chance to really get it."

Mundine's scheduled fight with Austin Trout fell apart and now "The Man" is hunting Mayweather. The anticipated rescheduling of Anthony Mundine’s WBC Super Welterweight Silver Title defence with Austin Trout has been called-off. Negotiations to reschedule the fight in the USA have been underway since May when Mundine was forced to withdraw from the original May 9th bout in Texas due to injury. Anthony fully recovered from his ear injury suffered in training and set-out to reschedule the fight with Trout at the promoters earliest possible opportunity (mid August). Team BOXA and Anthony Mundine were unable to get a confirmed date on a Premier Boxing Champions show and new terms proposed by Promoter were unworkable and unacceptable to Team Mundine.

Danny Green will fight Slovakian Tamas Kovacs in Melbourne in August but the four-time world champion says a rematch with Anthony Mundine remains his "end game". The 42-year-old announced the fight, his first since 2012, at Crown Casino in Melbourne on Wednesday, with the bout to take place at Hisense Arena on August 19. Green said that he would have his hands full with the light heavyweight, who has a professional record of 26 wins and one loss, but getting Mundine back in the ring for a rematch of their 2006 bout remains the Perth boxer's goal.

Mundine's team sent a statement: Mundine is suffering from a severe ear infection which doctors say will cause him serious and potentially permanent damage if he continues with the bout.
