Pedro Diaz, trainer of undefeated Colombian contender Roamer Alexis Angulo, reiterated that his boxer's fight with WBO super middleweight world champion Gilberto "Zurdo" Ramírez is a great challenge to overcome.

Diaz is training Angulo in the state of Florida, as they prepare for the ESPN televised main event on June 30 in Oklahoma.

"We carried out a good preparation with suitable sparring, we all know what it is and who Zurdo Ramírez is and what it means to fight with a great Aztec warrior, who is also a great champion and who has a great team with him," Diaz acknowledged.

The Cuban strategist has guided a number of top fighters, like his compatriot Guillermo Rigondeaux.

Angulo has (23-0, 20 knockouts) the necessary power in his punches and Diaz expects him to shock a lot of experts with his performance in the ring.

Diaz states that Angulo is not the type of boxer to trash talk anyone, he shows respect to his opponents.

"Alexis is a man who expresses himself very well and show a lot of respect, he is not a bragging man, he speaks in a correct way and he is always respecting everyone, and this time he's showing respect to the champion Ramírez, his team and his fans.

"Some people are very focused on their work and they like it and for that reason they work hard, they are going with everything because they know very well that this is the fight of their lives and the hardest they have ever had."

Also, referring to the manager and promoter of Angulo, Andrew "Andy" Perez, Diaz gave praise to his leadership in helping build Angulo to a world title opportunity. Perez was a baseball player for the San Diego Padres.

"Andy is going step by step and he's creating a great squad of champions, we have Alexis who is only a step away from the world championship and we know that others are coming close like Mexico's Elias Espadas," Diaz said.
