The president of the World Boxing Association, Gilberto Mendoza, made it clear that Andrew Moloney should be the next opponent of WBA super flyweight world champion Román 'Chocolatito' González - despite the intentions that exist to make a unification against WBC champion Juan Francisco 'Gallo' Estrada.
Jason and Andrew Moloney have traveled halfway around the world just to train in a sterile state-of-the-art facility. The Australian twins helped re-open the doors of the Top Rank Gym in Las Vegas, Nevada, where they will spend the next few weeks to train for their respective upcoming fights. Both were subject to coronavirus disease (COVID-19) testing, as well as all accompanying team members including their career-long manager Tony Tolj.

Andrew Moloney would have preferred a personal view of Kal Yafai’s latest title defense, as he’s long served as his overdue mandatory challenger. Instead, he simply admired the action and its aftermath from afar, as Roman ‘Chocolatito’ Gonzalez (49-2, 41KOs) dismantled the previously unbeaten Yafai (26-1, 15KOs) in nine rounds.

The undefeated Brit was due to enter a unification bout versus Mexico’s Juan Francisco Estrada (40-3, 27KOs), the lineal 115-pound king and World Boxing Council (WBC) titlist who suffered a hand injury which has forced him out of their planned Jan. 30 unification clash in Miami, Florida.
It's not the version of the title for which he hoped to fight in ending his 2019 campaign, but Andrew Moloney continues to make the most of the hand he's been dealt. Moloney scored knockdowns in each of the two rounds, the latter ending the fight on the spot at 1:26 of round two.
