Andre Dirrell (28-3) picked up his second victory in a row on Saturday night in Newark, New Jersey.

The former IBF interim super middleweight champion dropped Christopher Brooker (16-8) three times and beat Brooker by third-round technical knockout. The fight was televised by FS1 after Jonathan Rice’s upset victory over Michael Polite Coffie in a main event televised by FOX.

Dirrell’s trainer Kevin Cunningham was very pleased with his fighter’s performance. They had a long camp in Cunningham’s South Florida base of operations.

“We had a tremendous training camp and everything came together for Dre tonight. He’ll be even sharper in his next fight,” Cunningham told BoxingScene.com.

The 37-year-old Dirrell is now 2-0 during his run as a full fledged light heavyweight. Cunningham would like to see him return to the ring one more time before the year is over in a much bigger fight.

“We would love a showdown against Badou Jack,” Cunningham stated.

Jack took out late replacement Dervin Colina in 4 rounds on June 6th on the Floyd Mayweather-Logan Paul pay-per-view undercard.

He was scheduled to face Jean Pascal in a rematch for the WBA world light heavyweight title. However, the fight was canceled when Pascal reportedly tested positive for 4 different PEDs. Pascal was later stripped of his title and suspended for 6 months.

Dirrell is ranked #8 by the WBA and Jack is ranked #5 by the organization.
