Amin Jahanzeb: record, next fight and profile →
After an injury to IBF flyweight champion Sunny Edwards saw Saturday night’s bill scrapped, Louie Lynn turned out to be the main attraction as Friday night’s warm-up prospects show by Queensberry Promotions became the only show of the week at the Copper Box in East London, but he will have gone home a relieved man after winning a split technical decision against Amin Jahanzeb in their featherweight ten-rounder.
THE OPENING NIGHT of Queensberry's series of shows with the spotlight placed on top prospects will take place at the Copper Box Arena on Friday September 10, live on BT Sport. The show will also be available live and free on the BT Sport Boxing YouTube channel.
Mark Heffron and Denzel Bentley battled their way to a unanimous draw in their ten-round British middleweight title eliminator at York Hall in East London. Bentley scored the only knockdown, in the second round, but it was Heffron who spent most of the fight coming forward, while Bentley moved and aimed to pick him off.
Anthony Yarde will take on Dec Spelman, in what will prove an ideal chance to directly compare himself against potential future foe Lyndon Arthur - who last month edged Spelman on points behind-closed-doors. Yarde challenged for a World Title against Sergey Kovalev in 2019 and has been absent since his Russian mission - where he came within seconds of toppling the legendary champion.
FRANK WARREN IS delighted to announce the signing of Amin Jahanzeb to the Queensberry Promotions stable. The 23-year-old featherweight has accumulated a record of 7-0 (2KOs) and is now determined to build on his perfect professional start on the platform of the renowned Hall of Fame promoter.
Andrew Selby’s first fight in over a year. The Welsh television channel will be broadcasting the Sanigar Events card on Saturday, 27 October, live from the Newport Centre. The Bocsio Byw (Live Boxing) programme will feature Welsh language commentary, with English language commentary – provided by former WBU World title holder and now leading trainer Gary Lockett and John Hardy – available via the red button service.
