Adrien Broner still doesn’t know who he will fight next month. BoxingScene.com has learned, though, that the former four-division champion will fight February 20, not February 13, as originally planned. Premier Boxing Champions’ Al Haymon was still working Wednesday to secure Broner’s new opponent.

Rising lightweight prospect Michel ‘La Zarza’ Rivera has emerged as a leading candidate to next face the former four-division titlist, multiple sources have informed BoxingScene.com. The two sides are in advanced talks for the fight which would headline a Showtime card on Feb. 13, according to two separate sources.

Former four division world champion Adrien Broner has been hit by another legal judgement - this time in Las Vegas. Last month in Ohio, Broner was jailed for contempt of court for his failure to pay a judgment of more than $800,000. That judgment is connected to an incident from 2018, when Broner was alleged to have sexually assaulted a woman at a nightclub.
The latest round in court for Adrien Broner revealed delays both on the legal front and in the ring. The former four-division titlist remains embroiled in a civil lawsuit, for which he still owes $830,000 stemming from a June 2018 incident which has twice landed the boxer in jail. Broner and his new lawyer, Marcus Sidoti were both present as was his accuser and her attorney for Monday’s show cause hearing at Cuyahoga County Common Pleas Court in Cleveland, Ohio.
