Adam Kownacki: record, next fight and profile →
Brooklyn based Adam Kownacki has begun to establish himself not only as a threat to the heavyweight champions, but also as an attraction in New York, with the Polish puncher having developed a cult following in the US region where he resides.
NEW YORK – Chris Arreola can’t see any way he and Adam Kownacki won’t produce a fan-friendly heavyweight brawl August 3. Their styles seem perfectly suited for that type of scrap, a battle Arreola and Kownacki wish they could watch from ringside seats. Their 12-round fight will headline a “PBC On FOX” tripleheader at Barclays Center in Brooklyn.

Undefeated Polish star and Brooklyn-native Adam Kownacki will look to thrill in front of a hometown crowd when he steps into the ring against veteran former title challenger Chris "The Nightmare" Arreola for a 12-round heavyweight showdown that headlines FOX PBC Fight Night on FOX and FOX Deportes Saturday, August 3 from Barclays Center, the home of BROOKLYN BOXING™.
Date, opponent and site changes have led to the finalization of a FOX doubleheader August 3 in Brooklyn. Multiple sources have confirmed to BoxingScene.com that the network will air a doubleheader that night that’ll match heavyweights Adam Kownacki and Chris Arreola in the main event and light heavyweights Marcus Browne and Jean Pascal in the co-feature. FOX Sports’ Mike Coppinger first reported the news Wednesday.
Los Angeles, California - Andy "The Destroyer" Ruiz Jr. (32-1, 21 KOs) scoring a TKO victory over Alexander Dimitrenko (41-5, 26 KOs) after five rounds of action in their heavyweight showdown.
It would provide promoters with a saleable storyline, but Adam Kownacki won’t step in for Jarrell Miller to challenge Anthony Joshua. The unbeaten Polish heavyweight contender is Miller’s close friend and definitely would help sell the remaining 6,000 or so tickets for Joshua’s U.S. debut on June 1 at Madison Square Garden. Based on how Kownacki and Miller typically assess their regular, spirited sparring sessions, the Brooklyn-bred Kownacki also would have at least as good a chance to upset Joshua as Miller.
Keith Connolly, manager for undefeated Polish contender Adam Kownacki, believes his fighter has a good shot to land a fight with WBC heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder - as long as Wilder is not positioned for a unification with IBF, WBO, WBA, IBO champion Anthony Joshua.
Multiple sources have informed BoxingScene.com that undefeated Polish heavyweight contender Adam Kownacki is considering offers from Bob Arum, Al Haymon and Eddie Hearn to fight on the platforms with which those three power brokers have content agreements. Kownacki’s past two fights, victories over Charles Martin and Gerald Washington, were part of Haymon’s “Premier Boxing Champions” cards and broadcast by Showtime and FOX, respectively.
Mairis Briedis (25-1, 18 KOs) vs Krzysztof Glowacki (31-1, 19 KOs) and Yunier Dorticos (23-1, 21 KOs) vs Andrew Tabiti (17-0, 13 KOs) on June 15 mark the third time for the World Boxing Super Series to travel to Riga. Both a Season 1 quarter- and semi-final, Mairis Briedis vs Mike Perez and Aleksandr Usyk vs Mairis Briedis, were held at the Arena Riga in front of ecstatic capacity crowds.
