Andy Ruiz Jr. provided proof Friday of all the hard work he has put in to prepare for his fight against Chris Arreola. The former heavyweight champion came in at 256 pounds, 27½ pounds less than he weighed the day before his loss to Anthony Joshua in their 12-round rematch 16 months ago in Diriyah, Saudi Arabia. Ahead of this Saturday’s showdown, a star-studded lineup of Mexican legends, champions, contenders and more shared their thoughts on the matchup between former unified heavyweight champion Andy “The Destroyer” Ruiz Jr. and all-action heavyweight Chris “The Nightmare” Arreola.

It has been nearly two years since Omar Figueroa Jr’s last fight. There was a lot of consideration over that period where the former lightweight titlist believed there would never be a next one.

Former world champion and welterweight contender Omar “Panterita” Figueroa, Jr. shared details of his training camp and previewed his upcoming showdown against Abel Ramos, which serves as the co-main event of a FOX Sports PBC Pay-Per-View event this Saturday, May 1 from Dignity Health Sports Park in Carson, California.

Former unified heavyweight world champion Andy “The Destroyer” Ruiz, Jr. will battle all-action heavyweight Chris “The Nightmare’’ Arreola in the main event of an all-Mexican boxing extravaganza on Saturday, May 1 headlining a FOX Sports PBC Pay-Per-View from Dignity Health Sports Park in Carson, California.

The fight between former unified heavyweight world titlist Andy Ruiz and former three-time world title challenger Chris Arreola, who are both from Southern California and due to meet this spring, have had their bout moved from April 24 to May 1 at a site to be announced, multiple sources with knowledge of the card told BoxingScene.

Yordenis Ugas didn’t get much help from the three judges in his latest victory in the ring, though he did his part to deliver a much-needed win for the Fox Sports family. A special Sunday evening edition of Premier Boxing Champions (PBC) on Fox averaged 1,019,000 viewers over the course of the 156-minute telecast, according to Nielsen Media Research. The show was headlined by Ugas’ strangely-scored split decision win over Abel Ramos in their secondary welterweight title fight, which peaked at 1,260,000 viewers at the 10:00-10:15pm ET block, towards the end of the 12-round main event.
