Abdullah Mason returns to the ring on Saturday to face Mike Ohan Jr. in an eight-round bout at the Centre Vidéotron in Quebec City, Canada, airing on ESPN.

Former New England welterweight champion Mike “Bad Man” Ohan Jr. (19-2, 9 KOs) has stepped up once again, accepting an offer to fight undefeated, highly-touted prospect Abdullah Mason (14-0, 12 KOs), this Saturday night (Aug. 17) on a Top Rank card at Centre Videotron in Quebec City, Canada.

Texas’ Jesse “Bam” Rodriguez is considered one of the rising stars of his generation. The undefeated WBC junior bantamweight champion is one of 10 fighters below the age of 25 with the potential for greatness due to their exceptional qualities.

Two of Top Rank’s stars enjoyed a successful night at Newark’s Prudential Center, with Keyshawn Davis stepping up and coming through a suitably tough test against Miguel Madueno while Abdullah Mason was sensational in blitzing Luis Lebron.

Abdullah Mason notched a third-round TKO victory against veteran Luis Lebron in their lightweight contest Saturday on the Shakur Stevenson-Artem Harutyunyan undercard at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey.

Plenty are tipping Abdullah Mason for greatness and his elevation to the televised portion of the ESPN card on Saturday (July 6) will likely ensure that optimism gathers pace.

Shakur Stevenson and Artem Harutyunyan weighed-in without incident ahed of their WBC lightweight title fight in Newark tomorrow.

The eight-round bout featuring lightweight star Abdullah Mason against Puerto Rican veteran Luis Lebron at Newark’s Prudential Center on Saturday (July 6) has been elevated to the ESPN main card, which is headlined by Shakur Stevenson’s WBC lightweight title defense against Artem Harutyunyan.

In a recent promotional clip posted on Top Rank’s Instagram page, lightweight phenom Abdullah Mason is shown dispatching previously unbeaten Benjamin Gurment with a single left hand in February. The caption read, “All he delivers is HIGHLIGHTS” That’s been the case throughout the early stages of the 20-year-old’s pro career, and after 12 wins, 10 knockouts and plenty of those aforementioned highlights, he admits that it isn’t good fortune, but the game plan every time out. “I definitely got to put on a show every time I step in there,” said Mason, who faces Ronal Ron this Saturday on the Jared Anderson-Ryad Merthy card at American Bank Center in Corpus Christi, Texas. “That's what you’re in it for. If you want to be the best, you’ve got to be the most entertaining fighter inside the ring, and outside the ring, as well. But first things first, you’ve got to perform inside the ring if you want to do what you got to do and earn what you got to earn.”
