Abel Sanchez, the trainer for IBO, WBA, WBC middleweight world champion Gennady Golovkin, does not see any need for his boxer to make stylistic changes for the upcoming rematch with Mexican superstar Canelo Alvarez.

In September 2017, the two boxers fought to a controversial twelve round split draw. Most observers felt Golovkin had done enough to win the fight.

The rematch is scheduled for September 15th, at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

Sanchez explains that Golovkin is not looking at this fight as some personal matter that needs to be resolved.

He says the bout is viewed as a competitive matter.

Canelo recently stated that Golovkin is not capable of fighting in a new style and won't be able to make adjustments in the rematch.

A new style is not necessary to win, says Sanchez.

"[Golovkin] is very focused, for him this is sport, not something personal, we go at the pace we normally go," Sanchez said to Televisa.

"We won the first time, and if we do the same fight we will do it again, and the best one will win that night."

Sanchez expects more fireworks, because there is a lot of pressure on Canelo to make more fireworks in the contest. The veteran trainer has long criticized Canelo for the way he fought in the first contest - claiming that the Mexican fighter moved around too much and refused to engage.

"I think it will be better because Canelo has the pressure on him to do something different, and if he does that, then it will be a more active fight where the two of them are going to hit each other," Sanchez said.

"I've never been angry with Canelo, I'm angry at the circumstances in which they put us in, and now we have to continue and try to win the fight in the best way possible."
