World Boxing Council (WBC) super flyweight world champion Srisaket Sor Rungvisai will return to the ring on July 21, when he faces South Korean contender Young Gil Bae.

The contest will be a non-title fight, and fought over the ten round distance. The homecoming event will be held at the Workpoint Studio in Bang Phun, Thailand.

Since last week, the possibility of this event with Sor Rungvisai fighting at home was announced, after having canceled a direct rematch with the Mexico's Juan Francisco "Gallo" Estrada.

This cancellation of the Estrada rematch came about after Sor Rungvisai broke up with his longtime girlfriend. But along with this sentimental break, Sor Rungvisai (45-4-1, 40 knockouts) also ended his working relationship with his manager of several years.

But he will stay busy on July 21 against Bae, who has a record of 28-6-2 and 22 knockouts.

In March 2017, Sor Rungvisai was screened worldwide when he secured a majority decision victory over Nicaraguan Roman "Chocolatito" Gonzalez to capture the WBC super flyweight championship. In the rematch, in September of the same year, the Thai puncher knocked out Gonzalez in a four round shocker.

In March of this year, Sor Rungvisai went through hell and back to defeat Estrada, also by majority decision.

The fight against Bae is going to take place at the bantamweight limit of 118-pounds.

The fight will be shown on Workpoint TV, continuing the relationship between the channel and the Nakornluang stable, and as a result it will be available to view all over the world, through the YouTube channel of Workpoint.

Bae has also been out of the ring for a while, having not fought since April 2017, when he fought for a draw with a Thai rookie in Bangkok. He has fought frequently in Thailand, and is best known for his 2015 knockout loss to WBC minimumweight champion Wanheng Menayothin, who advanced to 40-0 by stopping Bae.
