WBC heavyweight world champion Deontay Wilder (39-0, 38 KOs) does not trust Luis Ortiz (28-0, 24 KOs) in any way, shape or form.

Wilder will defend his title against Ortiz next Saturday night at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.

The fight was originally scheduled for last November, but the contest fell out after Ortiz tested positive for a banned substance in a pre-fight drug test.

Ortiz was replaced by Bermane Stiverne, who was knocked out by Wilder in the very first round. Prior to the fight, Stiverne had been the only boxer to last the full distance with Wilder.

After the WBC conducted an investigation, they approved Ortiz to fight Wilder. They came to the conclusion that his prescribed medication for high blood pressure was the root cause of his positive test.

But Ortiz has also tested positive in the past for steroids, after a 2014 TKO over Lateef Kayode.

Although Wilder has had three fights fall through due to positive drug tests, he expects Ortiz to make it to the finish line. Ortiz has been tested numerous times in the last few weeks.

"We always say, once a cheat, always a cheat and that will always carry with him but that's going to be up to Luis Ortiz.  I think Luis Ortiz is a smart guy and I think he's going to do the right thing up to this point," Wilder said.

"If he doesn't, like I said, it'll be shame on him to put people through so much pain and it's ridiculous that we have to be talking about this still at this point in time with drugs and cheating and stuff but I think he's going to do the right thing and so with that being said, I'm not worried about it.

"I have confidence in him that he's going to turn-up clean and he's going to give a great performance on the night of that fight and we're all going to be winners at the end of the night."
