The Shinsei Boxing Gym in the city of Kobe held a press conference where it was officially announced that former world bantamweight and featherweight champion Hozumi Hasegawa (30-4, 13 KOs) will face Mexican Olympic and WBC #13 ranked super bantamweight Arturo Santos (12-2, 4 KOs) on December 22 in Kobe. The fight will be a ten round headliner at super bantamweight.

In 2010, Hasegawa jumped two divisions, from bantamweight to featherweight, to win a vacant WBC title. He was knocked out by Jhonny Gonzalez last April in his first defense. He came back earlier this year, at featherweight, and stopped Jose Felix in seven rounds. Now the boxer will test the waters at super bantamweight.
