Chepo Reynoso, the co-trainer and manager of WBC junior middleweight champion Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez, is not intimidated by the recent news that Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. is planning to defend his WBC middleweight title on same night and in the same city.

The date of September 15th in Las Vegas will feature both of the Mexican superstars headlining separate pay-per-view events.

Canelo is slated to face Victor Ortiz in a Showtime pay-per-view main event from the MGM Grand. Chavez Jr. will face Sergio Martinez in an HBO pay-per-view main event from the Thomas & Mack Center.

For the last few years, Mexican fans have been debating over which of the two boxers is the bigger superstar. Both boxers have claimed to be the bigger draw on Mexican television.

The date of September 15 will settle the issue as to which fighter is the bigger draw among the Mexican fans, says Chepo.

Chepo will travel to Los Angeles on Sunday. Provided Victor Ortiz defeats Josesito Lopez on Saturday night, Chepo expects to take part in a press conference to officially announce Canelo-Ortiz next Tuesday.

"Now that Julio Cesar [Chavez] Jr. has already announced that he plans to go on the same date, it makes it more interesting. It is good, because now we will see who's who. We're confident that [we will present] a great night because there is a good [co-feature] as well, with the fight between Jhonny González and Daniel Ponce de Leon," Chepo said.
